Modern data centre established in the basement of the Vilnius TV Tower
The television antenna located at the top height in Lithuania (312 metres) is situated in the Vilnius TV Tower. This special purpose building has production area and utility rooms, conference rooms, museum and restaurant with the highest in Lithuania observation deck. Besides, from now the Vilnius TV Tower will be famous for its expedient use from the top to the foundation – in the basement of the tower AB Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentre) has established a modern data centre.

Mobile 4G Internet MEZON was the leader in terms of average speed in 2011
Measurements of mobile Internet access quality, which are carried out by the Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania, expose an obvious advantage of average throughput of 4G MEZON Internet as compared to mobile Internet on computer services provided by other operators. It is illustrated by public data of 2011 that is available at CRA website and can be sorted according to the operator, region, time of performing the measurements and other details.

1000 Telecentre “WiFi” hotspots are now accessible to everyone in Lithuania
AB Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (also referred to as the Telecentre or LRTC) informs that the “WiFi” hotspots established by the company can be accessed not only by the users of 4G “MEZON“ internet but also by any other person. There are over 1000 of “WiFi for MEZON clients” hotspots in the country. Majority of them are in rural areas and villages, therefore this network expands broadband Internet accessibility beyond the borders of the city.

Telecentre remains in a leading position: 4G “WiMAX” – the most intensively used mobile Internet network
After comparing the usage of mobile internet services in Lithuanian networks AB Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (also referred to as the Telecentre or LRTC) remains the absolute leader: as well as during the last quarter, the users of MEZON throughout the third quarter of this year via 4G “WiMAX” have sent and received more data (1,688 billion MB) than the users of other wireless internet via all 3G networks put together (according to the preliminary data of The Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania – 1,525 billion MB).

Digital Terrestrial TV Will Be Further Broadcast in Lithuania
Digital terrestrial TV will be further broadcast in a usual way (by receiving TV signals with antennae) after 29 October 2012 when analogue terrestrial television channels are no longer available. Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) informs that TV programmes transmitted via the company networks are already available to more than 90 percent of the Lithuanian population.

A Basketball Hoop Lit on the Vilnius TV Tower
Telecentras contributed to implementation of the project of the Vilnius Municipality “TV Tower – The Largest Basketball Hoop”. The company supplied electricity to light the symbolic hoop installation and provided equipment to support the structure.

The Historical Antennae Park Opened Near The Vilnius TV Tower
The first Lithuanian radio broadcast took place on 12 June 1926, and the first radio transmitter was installed in the building owned by Telecentras in Zaliakalnis, Kaunas. 85th anniversary of the broadcasting of Lithuanian radio programmes, the Telecentras opened the historical antennae park near the TV Tower.

TV Reports Via the Mobile Internet Became a Routine in Lithuania
All national TV broadcasters have tested the opportunities provided by the fourth generation (4G) mobile network technology WiMAX and have been using them since. To transmit live TV reports they have rented a set of mobile equipment from Telecentras which includes 4G internet MEZON modem, special coder and uninterrupted power supply.

Free access to WiFi on trolleybuses in Lithuania
15 trolleybuses No.19 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, have WiFi access which allows free connection to MEZON 4G Internet, WiMAX mobile technology. Passengers may connect to Internet via their laptop computers and mobile phones which are equipped with WiFi connection link. This service is free for all passengers, as well as those who are not subscribed to MEZON.

Mobile Internet Market: Some 30 Percent Of New Subscribers Chose 4G Network WiMAX in 2010
Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) reports that around 30 percent of new mobile internet subscribers chose WiMAX technology 4G internet MEZON in 2010. This year the amount of data sent by MEZON clients 5 times exceeded the data amount sent last year via WiMAX network operated by the company.

Lithuanian Modern Technology MEZON Outdoor Advertisement Recognized as Best
The joint project of Telecentras and JCDecaux Lietuva UAB “Public Transport Stations – 4G Bridge between Vilnius and Kaunas” was recognized as the best in the international outdoor advertising contest of the company group “JCDecaux”. “JCDecaux Group” company groups competed in the non-traditional outdoor advertising contest among 25 countries. The Lithuanians have become the winners for the first time.

Telecentre reports a further expansion of its 4G Mobile WiMAX network in Lithuania
Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentre), the most influential broadcasting service provider and 4G Mobile WiMAX internet service provider in Lithuania reports a further expansion of its 4G WiMAX network. As a result, 60 percent of the population of Lithuania will be able to use mobile WiMAX internet service MEZON by the end of 2010. Currently about 3 million and 300 thousand inhabitants are living in the country.
