AB Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) informs that the DC3 data centre built by the company has been granted the status of a State Data Centre by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
The resolution on the inclusion of DC3 in the list of state data centres was adopted at the Government meeting on 30 July. After acquiring the state DC status, it is planned to start providing server hosting, IT cloud and other services to state institutions and organisations in the near future according to the catalogue of centrally provided IT services.
“The Government’s decision will undoubtedly contribute to the faster implementation of the state’s strategy to centralise governmental IT management and make it more efficient, provide greater security to state information resources, and allow energy and financial savings,” says Remigijus Šeris, the head of Telecentras.
The State Data Centre VDC3 is one of the largest and most modern data centres in Lithuania. It has been awarded an international Tier III certificate, as well as full compliance with the requirements imposed on public data centers by an independent auditor. Thanks to the duplicated power, cooling, telecommunications and other systems, VDC3 ensures virtually one hundred percent uninterrupted operation.
