Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) together with the Singapore technology company Embedded LLM, the Lithuanian cybersecurity company CBRX and the US company Neural.ai signed a letter of intent on the creation of a common artificial intelligence (AI) platform in Lithuania.
The aim of the project is to create a new modern independent AI platform that responds to the European Union’s strategic goal to increase autonomy in the field of information resource management, which could be used by state institutions and business organizations.
“Do we think about the fact that with the use of various artificial intelligence systems, our personal data travels outside the European Union? It is therefore crucial to strengthen the European AI infrastructure that ensures the security of each of our data. This is especially relevant in the transport sector, where artificial intelligence is already helping in everyday decisions – traffic lights react to real traffic flows, and speed on motorways is regulated according to weather conditions. However, we are not limited to that – we are implementing AI solutions in other areas as well, and the platform developed by Telecentro is a great example of the development of this AI solution in the sector,” says Minister of Transport and Communications Juras Taminskas.
According to Arnas Zuikis, Director of the Business Development Department of Telecentras, the purpose of the new AI platform is to ensure compliance with Lithuanian and European legal requirements in the field of data security. “Basically, this project will start implementing a completely new independent AI infrastructure that is in line with Europe’s interest in creating a sovereign data management and storage architecture,” says A. Zuikis.
In this project, Telecentras intends to provide an equipment hosting service, as well as look for opportunities to use the platform’s resources for the development of AI services needed by its customers.
This is the second AI project for which Telecentras will provide an infrastructure service. In October 2025, the company became a member of the consortium that will implement the project of the national AI development center LitAI. The telecentre will provide the technical infrastructure of LitAI – it will install the so-called AI factory.
“Involvement in European and national AI development projects is a logical continuation of Telecentras’ efforts to develop state data centres. It is gratifying that the state and the IT business see and appreciate the work of Telecentras and the infrastructure created, which can be effectively used to host AI equipment,” says Remigijus Šeris, CEO of Telecentras.
